The Uninvited Stomach Bug!

Well the Most Unwanted Visitor of all time decided to take up residency at The Denton house. The STOMACH BUG! It all started with Miles on January 19th. He had a moderate case and was better by Wednesday. Thursday morning Mason and Anna woke up with it. Anna only got sick once, but Mason got sick every hour for 7 hours and ended up at the dr's office with an anti nausa shot to keep liquids in him. They sent me home with a dehyrated child and told me to get as much liquids in him as possible. I tried and tried and he got sick on Saturday and laid around all weekend. He acted a little better on Monday so I sent him to school on Tuesday. He did not eat or drink anything Tuesday after school and was begging to go to bed at 5:30. I put him to bed at 6 and we were up at midnight with more throw up. He laid around Wednesday and Thurday he got sick again. I went straight to the Dr's office and was instruced to take my dehydrated child to the ER. So in the middle of RSV season I went and waited and waited and waited. By the time the doctor saw us he was midly dehydrated but administered IV fluids and decided to take X-rays of his tummy. Sure enough he was completely impacted with poo. So an enima as administered, and he instantly perked up and we were sent home at 1am. After a long nap Friday he returned to his normal self. He is now eating and drinking and playing normally. I am so happy that it he is better. My heart has been so sad for him. He has not gotten off the couch, played or talked much at all for 8 days.
The final tally for the supplies we used are as follows;
3 Jumbo rolls of Paper Towels
1 bottle of Bath & Body Works soap
1 bottle of Germ-X
1 continer of Clorox wipes
3 times changing Mason's sheets
20 loads of laundry
Rented 8 movies
Several other sheet changes for everyone else.
Now Miles has Strep throat. I am hoping that everyone does not get it. I am looking forward to warmer weather.

Oh, what a nightmare! I'm hoping my kids are grown and gone before they ever get the stomach bug, but I seriously doubt that dream will come true! I'm glad it's over now!
