This is Miles' 4th season playing baseball. We moved him up to machine pitch ball. For those of you who do not know the difference, machine pitch is more like real ball. They keep score and make outs. The ball shoots out of a machine at a rapid speed I must add and they either hit it or strike out. You get 7-10 pitches before you strike out. There is defense played during the game in the outfield and this is where Miles is intimidated. He generally lets his teammates get the ball for him. He has adjusted to hitting great but he is unsure about catching and making outs. But with all that he just loves it. He loves playing baseball. It is one of his favorite things followed only slightly by swimming. Enjoy the pictures of Miles hitting, running to base, playing third base (his favorite) and the joy of the game on his face. He looks so big to me in these shots. Is he really that big?
Ready to Bat!
Waiting for the perfect Pitch!
Contact with the Ball!
Running to first base!
Whew I made it and need to be ready to run to 2nd!
He is ready to catch a ball at 3rd base and try to get runner out. He has done that once this year.
I am unsure what he is doing in this picture. I guess skipping out to 3rd base, but it is my favorite shot. I just can not believe how big he looks. Where has my baby GONE!
