Christmas Decorations!

I have really spent a lot of time decorating the house for Christmas this year and I love it. I was watching T.V. with the kids this morning thinking it all has to come down next week and how sad I will be. So for documentation for next year and for your enjoyment here are some pictures.

Our Mantle

Side Stairs
My Tree.
This picture does not do it justice. It is a huge tree and just beautiful. I had to replace most all the lights this year. It is so worth it.
A Denton tradition is to make ornaments every year and this is the one I made this year. It is my favorite one I have made.

Our Advent Calendar. Yes that is a list of names and dates for who gets to hang an ornament daily. There has been a constant fight over who gets to hang Santa today on Christmas Eve. Miles was on the schedule to do it today but we were suggesting Santa hang it(to be fair) when he comes but Mason told Miles he gets to hang it this morning. He surprises me daily. He truly has the Christmas Spirit.

Santa pictures from all years past. One of my favorite things. In the background the star above my stove is new and the little tree next to stove is new there too.

My Christmas Village. My grand parents gave the village to me and I have never put it up in this house. I got the idea from a friend to put them on top of my kitchen cabinets. I really like them up there.

Door Swag. New this year. Will have a couple more next year. I think they are cute.

Tom's Tree trimmed with large colored lights and tinsel if your from the north and icicles if you are from the south. The trains around the bottom are Tom's from his childhood. His dad gave them to us last year and we have really enjoyed them this year. Oh the tree is real.

Foyer Trees

Front Door. I gotta have a monogram somewhere.

And of Course no Denton Christmas is complete without Butter cookies. These cookies are the cookies Tom's mom makes every year and the cookies always left for Santa. So I have been making them to0........not as good though. I am still trying to find the right recipe.

And one more cute tidbit from my sweet Mason. While eating lunch yesterday we were listening to Christmas music and the song "Rejoice, Rejoice" came on and he was singing along. I asked him why we rejoice? Why do we celebrate Christmas? He responded it is Jesus' birthday and I asked him why that is so important and he said because he died to take away our sins. So I guess even though we believe in Santa and can't wait to open all the presents they understand the reason for the season.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL FROM THE DENTON'S
