We woke really early and got on a train and headed in to the Big Apple. The train ride was so fun for the kids. They did not know trains did such things.
Our hotel was close to Penn Station so we walked to check in. Wow is the only word to describe the kids reaction to the city. Everything is so big and people are everywhere. After we checked in and dropped off luggage we jumped on a double decker bus for a tour of Manhattan. It was impulsive, since we did not plan on it, but it was a wonderful way for the kids to see the City.
We saw Times Square
And the Empire State Building
And the Statue of Liberty from a distance. We decided the kids were not ready for the 4 hour adventure of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Next time.
After the bus tour we happened upon a Nintendo store. Mason was so happy. This store was his favorite thing of the whole city experience. They played wii and ds for about an hour and looked at past gaming systems and of course Mason had a hard time deciding which stuffed figure he wanted for his souvenir.
