The family retreat with our church family is our favorite weekend of the whole year. It is hard to say who loves it more the kids or Tom and myself. Lots of families in our congregation go to a camp for the weekend. There is always a wonderful speaker for the adults and the kids play and do activities the whole weekend. There is always a talent show Saturday night and is so fun. There is unlimited ice cream bars and Coke machine all weekend.
There is a flag ceremony morning and night to raise and lower the flag. Both boys participated this year. Oh so cute little nerdy boys.

There is a Rifle Range there and of course Miles had to participate and Mason wanted no part of shooting a gun. Miles is a really good shot. We were impressed.
Now for our favorite part. The TALENT SHOW!
So the boys have been trying to come up with an idea for the talent show since we left there last year. Of course me the not creative mom was of no help. So in beginning of October Mason told me he wanted to do a Christian rap song. He informed me he was a good rapper and most kids his age could not rap like him and that was talent. I dismissed his telling him I thought the song was too long. After much convincing from him and a couple youth group boys I agreed. And I am so glad I did. Mason is just wonderful in every way and even though he was very nervous and did not show us any of his famous dance moves he still rocked it.
The video is a bit long but so good. Mason is so outgoing and fearless, full of personality and never meets a stranger. He is such a gift to me. Enjoy!!!
