Miles’ Room

So for the few of you that read my blog you might know I am not a decorator. I really want a nice decorated house but it is just not a gift I have or high up on the priority list. I would like to say that if we had more funds and could hire someone to do then it would get done but really that probably would not happen either. So we live in a partially decorated house. Now if you were to come over it would look decorated to you but not many rooms are what I call done. So the boys have been sharing a room for about 5 years and had no desire to separate but Tom and I thought it was time and we were so right. Each boy got to pick colors and theme for their room. I will reveal Mason’s room when we finish it in April (it has been painted since September, see I told you we are horrible). Anyway for Miles’ birthday he got a new room. We had existing furniture painted and the walls. Of course the baseball theme was easy and fun. We still have 1 thing to hang up and maybe 1 other small project in there. That is success for us. So here it is.

Shelves to display his many baseball trophies and hats from winning seasons. His favorite teams logo above the bed and doesn’t all rooms need a huge tacky snake won from a game at Dollywood in the corner.

Don’t know why the print looks crooked I thought I fixed it, Anyway that is definitely Miles’ saying. The jar is holding games balls given to him for a good play by a coach.

His bookshelf with toys and books. Above the bookshelf is his home run ball holder. Some of them are also game balls but there are definitely 5 or 6 home runs up there. He is so proud.

And my favorite spot of the room

Where we read at night. Either Tom or myself read to the boys at night. Right now we are in the middle of the 4th Harry Potter book. I loved them when I read them years ago but enjoying them with my boys….priceless.

Miles loves his room and keeps it very tidy. So now Anna and Miles room is done oh yeah I have a huge cork board to hang on the wall in the nook in Miles room to hold swim ribbons and cub scout badges and other thing and then his room will be complete.

Next is Mason’s room, but we have done the dining room and covered the back porch so this house after 7 years is finally feeling like home cozy with roots.
